Hauck & Associates, Inc., a Washington, DC (Georgetown) based association management company, is looking for an experienced individual to join our team in Washington, DC. Hauck & Associates provides a variety of services to our client organizations, including membership administration, marketing, convention and event promotion, branding, social media, content and publications, creative design, and public relations that goes beyond the successful execution of administrative responsibilities. Our team partners with association leaders and other volunteers of our client organizations to provide administrative support and strategic guidance.

Marketing and Communications Responsibilities

  • Conceive and develop basic marketing plans to achieve client objectives
  • Coordinate implementation of marketing plans and associated deliverables
  • Develop and manage project production schedules
  • Develop marketing collateral—from writing compelling copy to production through delivery
  • Write copy for and manage delivery of client email campaigns, including distribution tools and analytics (monitoring open and click-through rates, etc.)
  • Develop basic social media plans and manage client social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
  • Manage and post updates for client websites
  • Monitor other client related organizations for relevant information and activities
  • Create campaigns for online advertising (i.e. Google Grants including Google AdWords)
  • Assist in coordinating work streams for other team members including related client committees
  • Identify and explore industry affiliation opportunities to further client objectives

Conference Planning Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead meeting planner and Executive Director in the planning of meetings and trade shows; to include supplier coordination, onsite execution and post event wrap-up for large, mid-size and small-scale shows as directed
  • Facilitate continuous communication between staff, client leadership, attendees and suppliers to meet the needs of our client organizations
  • Travel and work as needed to attend events and client meetings (may include weekends)
  • Assist with planning responsibilities for multiple clients and meetings concurrently
  • Contribute to overall team success by identifying problems and proactively seeking out methods to improve self-performance and/or efficiency of an operation or task

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Process incoming email and mail as well as client product fulfillment
  • Coordinate client committees and conference calls
  • Liase with staff and volunteer leadership to ensure follow through on actionable items
  • Respond to phone calls and other inquiries
  • Monitor client related agencies and other governing bodies for critical announcements and actionable information

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution with a concentration in marketing, communications, English, journalism, business, or other related field
  • 2-5 years of professional administrative experience, to include marketing/communications
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Solid understanding of social media and the ability to navigate mainstream channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agency and/or association management experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the general marketing process—research, planning, promotion, and evaluation
  • Proficiency with mainstream marketing-IT applications (e.g., HootSuite, Google AdWords, WordPress) and a basic to intermediate understanding of HTML (for email campaigns and web updates)
  • Proficiency with a second language (Spanish and/or Mandarin currently needed)
